U9/10 in-town
Girls and boys playing soccer all over Lexington on
Saturdays is a familiar sight to both Lexingtonian's
and visitors. For the 3rd and 4th graders, the U9 and
U10 teams play in a 6v6 format, and thrive on fair
competition, teamwork, and improving soccer skills.
U9/10/11 BAYS
U9, U10 and U11 travel is offered as an alternative
option on the LUSC player application form (check
box) along with the current in-town program for
players in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Teams are
formed based on the last current coach ratings,
spring evaluation sessions and from the previous
playing season and play in the Boston Area Youth
Soccer (BAYS) league. All players participating
in the travel program will follow all current BAYS
by-laws ruling as written. This also pertains to
making an effort, depending on level and numbers
of player sign-ups, to place teams in BAYS Divisions
1-4 according to ability level. All efforts will
be made to place all players wishing to travel,
certain exceptions may be necessary to limit numbers
if teams fall outside of preferred size. Cut-off
will then be based on actual "sign-up" date of player
in which case
"in-town" will be the only available option. The schedule
runs for 10 weeks each spring and fall with 5 home
games and 5 away games on Saturdays. The format is 6v6.

Summer Program
If you are around Lexington on some summer evenings,
why not come and play soccer? For 5 weeks each summer,
two nights each week, LUSC runs a league for kids
from the 2nd to 7th grade. These "organized pick-up"
games have teams coached by Lexington high school students
and refereed by many beginning referees. There are
no practices or clinics, boys and girls play on the
same teams, teams are formed by school and with friends,
and the kids have a blast being coached by high school
students.
Winter Program
For six Sundays during the winter Lexington United offers
an indoor soccer program for the girls and boys in the
U8-11 divisions. The sessions run for 1.5 hours at the
Lexington High School. The program is formatted with
the first 1/2 hour dedicated to developing technical
skills and the remaining hour for playing 4 v 4 (no
GK) scrimmages with mixed teams. Pro-coaches help out
with this fun-filled program.
